FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State and Georgia players have said all the right things this week. They’re happy to be in South Florida. They’re aware of the Orange Bowl’s history. They’re eager for the opportunities that await them on Saturday. What’s unsaid is this: “But.”Let’s be honest: Neither the fourth-ranked Seminoles (13-0, No. 5 CFP rankings) nor the sixth-ranked Bulldogs (12-1, No. 6 CFP) really wanted to be here, for obvious reasons. They’d rather be at the Sugar Bowl or the Rose Bowl, competing in the College Football Playoff, having a chance to make the national championship game. But Georgia lost a game, Florida State lost a quarterback, and here they are, set to face off on Saturday in an Orange Bowl that oddsmakers believe will be a rout for the Bulldogs to enjoy.“There’s going to be times in life where things don’t go the right way or the way that you expected them to go or maybe even what you’ve earned,” Florida...Falls Church launching first-ever Restaurant Week

Fairfax County Police are warning the community about a growing trend of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency scams.“In almost a dozen reported cases since the end of October, our investigators have observed a trend in scams involving cryptocurrency,” the department stated in a press release. “Criminals are exploiting individuals, particularly the elderly, into depositing money into crypto ATMs and defrauding them of their money.”Sgt. Jonathan Epperson, a Fairfax County public information officer, said the scam begins with the victim receiving a call from someone posing as a legitimate entity such as a business or even a government agency.“What we’re seeing is they call our elderly community, and they’re scamming them into going to these Bitcoin, crypto ATM machines and having them deposit money,” he said.Epperson said once the money is deposited, it’s being sent off and victims are losing thousands of dollars.Police offer the following ti...2 men killed in crash on I-76 after driver veered off road

BALTIMORE (AP) — When Tua Tagovailoa outdueled Lamar Jackson early last season — with both quarterbacks playing like MVP candidates — it showed how much potential the Dolphins and Ravens might have. Those teams both had to wait a year, but now they’re sitting at the top of the AFC. They just needed their star passers to stay healthy.“I got a lot of respect for Lamar, the things that he’s done throughout his career,” Tagovailoa said. “I can vividly remember when I was in college, I think he was in the NFL, and he reached out to me. He told me I was balling, and I thought that was the one of the coolest things. I think that was the year he won the MVP.”Jackson is now the favorite to win his second MVP after leading the Ravens to a big victory Monday night at San Francisco. Baltimore (12-3) has the top record in the NFL and can clinch the No. 1 seed in the AFC with a victory over Miami on Sunday. If the Dolphins (11-4) win at Baltimore, they would control their own path to the top...Harvard faces Friday deadline to respond to House on plagiarism scandal
