Bicycle Accident on Deer Valley Drive Claimed Life of 14-Year-Old TeenSAN ANGELO, TX (September 5, 2023) – Monday afternoon, Kyle Jones was killed in a bicycle collision on Deer Valley Drive.Police responded to the scene around 1:00 p.m., near Deer Valley Drive on August 28th.According to reports, a fuel-powered bicycle that had just come out of a private drive into Deer Valley Drive was struck from behind by a 2023 Hyundai Elantra.Paramedics arrived and transported the bicyclist to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Two-Car Collision on Highway 103 Claimed Life of Shelby County DeputyCENTER, TX (September 5, 2023) – Tuesday morning, Matthew Pierson was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 147.The deadly collision happened around 7:30 a.m. along Highway 147 and Highway 103.According to reports, William Lyons, 54, was driving a 2014 Peterbilt truck tractor semi-trailer west on Highway 103. Meanwhile, Pierson, was traveling in his police cruiser in the area and failed to yield to the semi-trailer. The cruiser ended up striking the trailer and injuring the deputy.Emergency crews were dispatched to the site of the collision shortly after. There, they pronounced the driver Pierson, dead at the scene.Officials later stated that Lyons did not sustain injuries due to the collision.Following preliminary investigations, officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident.
